Divest Maine, a coalition of public employees, beneficiaries, youth, retirees, and environmental activists, has been fighting for the State of Maine to divest its state employee retirement accounts from fossil fuels. In 2021 we helped pass LD99 a bill that required MainePERS to divest all of fossil fuel holdings by 2026, unfortunately, MainePERS is not on track to meet the requirements of this law.
But we’re not backing down!
We plan to continue pushing MainePERS to enact this law.
